Legal Question in Family Law in California
Closing costs and commissions reagrding Moore/Marsden rights
Been married for 3 yrs and lived in the house spouse had bought prior to marriage. We are divorcing and I have very small amount of interest unsing the Moore/Marsden calculation. My spouse has now disclosed to me that I am responsible for 1/2 of the $50k in business debt incurred and wants 1/2 of my pension. If I am responsible for 1/2 of the commissions and closing costs, I will end up owing my spouce money who then keeps the $400k of equity from the home sale. My spouce is a Family Law attorney and I feel at a huge disadvantage and I am being threatened that if I try to fight this this, it will cost me tens of thousands of $$$. My question is, am I responsible for the commissions and closing costs? Also, am I responsible for 1/2 of the business debt?

The first rule in any divorce is STOP LISTENING TO THE OTHER PARTY!!! - your husband is not going to tell you anything helpful for your case.
Unless you have personal experience and knowledge of family law and family law litigation, you would be rather foolish to attempt to litigate this matter in pro per against an experienced family law attorney. Your chances of achieving an acceptable result are not good. My best advice to you is "RETAIN AN ATTORNEY NOW"
