What constitutes a common law marrage in California.

There is no common law marriage inherently granted in the state of California, unless the "marriage" took place initially outside of California and California honors it accordingly.

California law does not provide for a common law marriage. It does however, recognize common law marriages that results from the parties living in a particular state.
