Legal Question in Family Law in California

common law what can I get

dated woman for 6 years, lived together 5. Now separated, put plenty of money into her home to fix it up ( about $100K). Put money down on new car for her ($10k). Do I have any legal rights to get a fair price on some of that back ?

You might be able to either get reimbursement or even an equity position in the property. Your position would be greatly enhanced if you could allege, and prove, that a contract, oral or written, express or implied, existed between you. The contract may have been just that you would get the money back (a loan) or that the two of you agreed that you would share all property as though you were married.
