Common law marrage in California

What I want to know is if a man and woman live together for seven years are they common law married and does California even have a common law marrage law

There is no common law in California. That is not to say however, that under certain circumstances you may have some rights against your partner.

Common law marriage does not exist in California, however under certain circumstances, it may acknowledge and/or recognize a "common law marriage" that existed in another state formerly.
