Legal Question in Family Law in California

common law marrage

Is there such a thing in California ? If there is how many years must two people live together to be considered married? Part two. can I clame my girlfriend whom has been living with me for five years now as a dependant. Thanks very much.

This question has been asked and answered many times on this site. California hoes not have any provision for a common law marriage. No matter how long you live together you will not be married. Therefore she will not be a dependent.
