From the Community Obligations section of the Summary Dissolution booklet: "If you lived together before your marriage, you may wish to see a lawyer about possible additional rights either of you may have." What additional rights might this passage be referring to?

Usually that refers to what are known as Marvin agreements. Named after the case involving the late actor Lee Marvin, people that live together, without being married, do not acquire rights in each other's property or earnings unless they have made an express agreement between them to share property and earnings. Those types of agreements are known as Marvin agreements, and disputes are heard in the family law courts.
