Community property vs non commuity .(Residence)

I have a quit question. I purchased the current Mobile Home with fund from a settlement from a accident for personal injuries incurred. Now we did buy a home prior which was sold but none of those fund went to buy the present residence.

What are the statures and stipulations.

The family code sections 781 et seq apply to your question. 780. In addition to reading the code sections you should read appellate court cases that interpret these code sections.

Family code section is copied below.

Family Code section 781

Except as provided in Section 781 and subject to the rules of

allocation set forth in Section 2603, money and other property

received or to be received by a married person in satisfaction of a

judgment for damages for personal injuries, or pursuant to an

agreement for the settlement or compromise of a claim for such

damages, is community property if the cause of action for the damages

arose during the marriage.
