Legal Question in Family Law in California

Confused and uninformed

I am a Ca res. My wife lives in Az along w/ my 2 year old daughter. We are in the process of a divorce. I was charged w/ criminal damage dom. violence because i put a hole in bathroom door of our res. I was given one year probation. Stipulations to my probation are that I do not have contact w/ my wife or daughter for one year.

To get to the point it has been 8 mos. since this happened I have not seen my daughter for almost a year, keep in mind she was only 13 mos old last time we were together, so I'm thinking she probably has no idea who I am. Now my wife writes and says that if I will surrender my rights to my daughter that she will see to it I pay no child support. Is this true? How will I hurt myself and my daughter if I do?By the way divorce filed in AZ
