Conservatorship

In doing a conservertorship, if the conservertee is agreeable. Do you still need to havve an investigation, or can you just get a waiver on that

It is my understanding that the investigator is mandatory in every petition for the appointment of a conservator. The would seem to be logical; if the person is compentent to agree to the appointment of a conservator, then it would seem logical that they would estblish a trust and a power of attorney for health care. Thus the appointment of a conservator would logically be applicable only if the conservatee is incompentent.
