Legal Question in Family Law in California
conservitor, guardian, or power of attorney?
My daughter has been in ICU with a neurological syndrome that has completely paralized her, except her eyes. She communicates through blinking. The DR's say she should fully recover in 6 mo - 3 yrs. She turns 18 in 13 days and I am trying to sign up for all her programs she will need while disabled. I was told that I will need something like a power of attorney to make decisions and apply for programs on her behalf. Since she cannot write, can I still do a power of attorney, or do I have to do something else. I am trying to do the cheapest way, as my husband is not working and I had to take off work until she is out of ICU (at least anothe 2 weeks).
Can you please tell me what I need to file?

When she turns 18 you can petition for a conservatorship. Contact my office and I will try to work something out regarding costs.
