Can I get an continuance....

Is it possible to call the courts the morning of or the day before to request a continuance due to illness or an emergency? Calculating arrears for other party to pay and current income establishment for both parties, is what is on calendar. Neither party has an attorney. Is this possible? Can I call the courts to request an continuance due to an emergency?

Yes you can call the court clerk and ask for a continuance or stipulate with the other side to continue the hearing. Its up to the discretion of the judge though.
