Re: copy decree of divorce

In order to obtain a copy of your divorce decree, you could (1) ask a lawyer or paralegal to obtain it for you, or (2) go to the los angeles courthouse records department and ask for a copy of the decree. The second option is probably most cost effective.

If you do it yourself, make sure that you have the name of the case and the case number with you when you go to the courthouse at which the matter was heard.

If an attorney assisted you with the divorce, this should be something that is kept in their file. In that case, it could be as simple as just having the attorney give you a copy from their file.

I hope this was helpful.
