Court appointed attorneys for minor children
My son age 14 has court appointed attorney who's job it is to make recommendations in his best interest. Child has documented history of physical abuse at mothers home from step father. Child has resided with father for 3 years , no visitation to mother by court order or scheduled reunification for future. Child cuts school for 29 days, father looks irresponceable and court appointed attorney recommends child return to mothers with visitation to father . Can child refuse to return to mothers or releave the court appointed of there duites nas counsel?

A number of things are possible, but to give you a good answer an attorney would need to review the court file, and history, and review the report of the child's attorney. There are many factors involved. Generally, the child must follow the court order. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
