Legal Question in Family Law in California

Going to court without an attorney

I have a court date to get my child support judgement reduced and can't afford an attorney. The judge hearing the case does not like pro pers. What do you suggest I do or who should I contact?

Re: Going to court without an attorney

I suggest you go to court. Most judges on the family support calendar are very accustomed to "pro pers". The calculation of child support,

when proper income information is given, is relatively straightforward. You might try to go to the court in advance, or a friendly attorney, and

run the child support calculations on the computer so that you can present the judge with some proposals based upon your income and financial situation.
