Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have a court date of 6/17. When my daughter is with her father he sometimes doesn't let me pick her up, I have her with me now and I've been advised to keep her until the date. Is that a good idea?

No. You never want to go into court when the other parent is in contempt, and be in contempt yourself. Get a certified copy of the current order containing the schedule. Abide by it. If the father will not let you have her on a day and time provided in the order, call the police or sheriff with jurisdiction at his location and ask for a "child custody civil standby" and go get her.
