Your attorneys duty at trial is to articulate the best legal arguments that support your position. Your role involves working closely with your attorney in the development of those legal positions that arise from the particular facts of your case. Your attorney will advocate your position to the judge. You may also speak by addressing the court when you testify. You only need to go to trial if you and the other side cannot agree on settling whatever is in dispute.
