Legal Question in Family Law in California
court order being abused
My ex and I have joint legal custody of our child. My ex's girlfriend kees signing school documents, homework assignments, taking my son to appointments, etc. on his scheduled days to visit our son. I have repeatedly asked the father that school parent teacher conferences and SIT meetings becing attended strictly by us two. I aslo don't feel the girlfriend should be signing things and making appointments - I have asked for all this to stop. They continually persist in doing whatever they feel. I feel it's a violation of my rights as his mother, the primary physical custodial and joint legal parent.
Am I in the wrong? Is she allowed to do all these things? what should I do?

Re: court order being abused
This conduct is quite common in custody cases. Unless it is causing some problem, it is probably best to ignore it. However, keep a record of the lack of actual contact he has for your child. This information may be helpful if he requests more time with your child. The girl friend will not replace as mom, so relax and make your child feel at ease. Definitely do not involve your child in any custody or support dispute.
