Legal Question in Family Law in California
Court order
Me and my ex-husband just got divorced. At the support hearing I waived my right to spousal support from him because he vowed to keep me covered under his medical insurance. The judge even ordered for him cover my medical and dental ins. After we got our final divorce date he canceled my insurance. What should I do, or can do?

Re: Court order
You should file an OSC to have the terms of the court order followed. Additionally you should consult the specific terms of your judgment to verify what are the rules that he should follow.
If you have additional questions you should contact any attorney in your area.
Good luck.

Without reviewing the judgment it is difficult to say your most practical remedy. I would suggest that you sign up for COBRA coverage or obtain insurance to protect yourself then file a motion to order him to make the payments or reimburse the payments that you must make. Filing a motion to order him to reinstate the insurance would not be very effective as he has already been ordered to maintaint he insurance and he has failed to do that. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
