Legal Question in Family Law in California

Court Order/Judgement

Plaintiff was ordered to pay car payments which he did not. I had to make the payments or face repossion. How do I collect on this matter. Plaintiff refuses to pay. This was ordered in Family Law. Also how do I get him to settle reserved and unsettled issues. I have no lawyer nor can I afford one. Thank You

Re: Court Order/Judgement

Don't automatically assume you can't afford a lawyer. Some courts and law schools have volunteer lawyer or law student programs and some lawyers don't charge an arm and a leg. If you are really on your own, you will have to figure out how to file and serve a Motion. You could look at other court files at your local courthouse and copy them, or read some of the good self-help books published by Nolo Press (nolo.com) which are available in most public libraries and courthouse law libraries.
