Legal Question in Family Law in California

Court Tommorow Questions Please Help

Hello all. I will make it as simple as possible. I have court on 10-14-08.

Madera County. I have no lawyer.

Subject: child visitation.

1. I have gone through mediation orientation.

2. I have gone through mediation to get agreement on temporary order of visitation.

3. I am going back to court in the Morning for court.

Question: what can I expect at this hearing? I have no lawyer.

Do I just sit there and say nothing as I did when I first was served papers and gone to court?

What questions if any do I expect?

Am I allowed to say anything or defend myself?

Do I just agree what is ordered until I can get a lawyer?

I really dont know what I am doing on this day, except sit there like I did the first time...

Can someone please help me I am really lost and unprepared.

Thank you so much.

Re: Court Tommorow Questions Please Help

A family law facilitator might be helpful for self represented parties. They can guide you through the initial process. Anothe roption is to hire an attorney on a limited basis, for individual pay as you go service.

As always, please contact a qualified attorney prior to taking any legal action.

Good luck,
