Legal Question in Family Law in California

cps took my son without having a reason i called his father to pick him up cps advised my son father an went to the court house with him to get full custody of my son i have full physical of my son...now cps is telling me it has nothing to do with them anymore that i have to fight my son father in family court can they take my son from me
