They are two separate systems, and one does not always know what the other is doing. If he has a restraining order or other domestic violence charge, you may not be liable for spousal support at all, by statute. You should consult an attorney.

The divorce court won't know what is happening in the criminal court unless you (or your attorney) brings it to the divorce court's attention. You may have grounds to stop or modify your alimony payments, but this will only happen if you take affirmative action to make it happen.
