does my current wifes income come into play when determining child support for a child from a earlier marriage?

It actually does "come into play." The support calculations are supposedly, at least, based on your disposable income alone. Therefore, even though your spouse's income cannot be included in your income for support purposes, it can "come into play" in that it may affect deductions, tax bracket, whether or not you pay for health insurance or are now covered under her employer, etc., which affect the net disposable income. Exactly how it affects things requires running the numbers in Dissomaster.
