Legal Question in Family Law in California

Help

I currentyl have a court oder sharing custody of my 1 yrd old son on a week on week basis 50% each parent. I have asked the father to try to work toward to getting his own place and obtaining his own belongings for my son when he has him. His father lives in a 1 bedroom trailer home with 5 other people. Myv son is sleeping in a play pen or on the floor with his dad, i still send clothes with him in fear of him going without and provide his car seat becuase his father has not. I do not feel that this is a good living enviroment for my soon and want to change his visitation schedule to everyothr weekend until his father can prove that he can offer my sona stable living envirmoent. Is this pheasable and how ??

The most important thing here is that your child should have equal access to both parents. Sometimes, one parent can't afford to do any better than your child's father is doing in this situation. Just because your child's father is poor is no reason to deprive your child of contact with his father. Especially at 1 year of age. Right now, that he sleeps in a play pen (as long as it is clean and comfortable) is not a bad problem. As he gets older, though, this may become an issue. Have you thought of maybe letting the father stay at your place while you go some where else during that time so that your child is in a better environment?
