Legal Question in Family Law in California

Can the custodial parent cease visitation rights for the non-custodial parent on a whim? The non-custodial parent is current on child support and maintains a relationship with the child in question. The non-custodial parent sought permission from the custodial parent to introduce the child to his love interest and has since been denied continuous visitation, as previously agreed upon in the divorce decree.

Custodial parent is in contempt of court if they are denying visitation that is in the divorce decree. File an order to show cause why the custodial parent should not be charged with contempt of court. Do NOT let this go. Letting it go for any length of time is often deemed to be a waiver by the court.

Consider as well a request for order to enforce the parenting plan.
