Legal Question in Family Law in California

Custodial Parent Interstate relocation

I am the custodial parent of a 13 year old child. My family would like to move to another state. The biological mother of my son is being unreasonable about visitation, and demands that we go to court. What steps do I need to take to get approval to move? What are my chances of being able to move?

If you and the mother of the child cannot agree on the terms of visitation, you will have to go to court and get a court order. In working with the ex you need to be creative. Such as possibly having a high speed internet connection in her home and your home with a video camera. This will allow the child and parent to see each and have the next best thing to a personal visit.
