Legal Question in Family Law in California
I am currently in a custody battle with my daughter's father. My daughter is now 5 months old, and her father has never met her. We were never married, and our relationship was only about a month long. We just had mediation, and it seems as though we agreed upon me having full custody, with her father only having supervised visitations for no more than 2 hours at a time. I have a possible job promotion, which if I am accepted for it, will need me to move from northern California to southern California. I know I need the move approved through the courts before I can do so, but the deadline for applications for the promotion is only 3 weeks away, and I know I will not be able to get anything approved through the court that quickly. I do not want to apply for the promotion unless I will likely be allowed to move, because it will look bad on my part to my company if I am accepted for the promotion and later deny it because I cannot legally move with my child. What is the likeliness the move would be approved through court? My pay will double with the promotion, and I am planning on buying a house if I move.

Under those circumstances you should be able to get the matter heard on an expedited basis but you will need an attorney.
