Legal Question in Family Law in California
custody in California
My ex and i share joint physical and joint legal custody. two weeks ago she decided to move 45 minutes away with our daughter in 30 days. she agreed to keep our daughter in school here until the end of the year. now, she called me 2hours ago, with a 48 hour notice that she is switching schools with our daughter. she said i have no say in the matter and that it is going to happen regardless. My question is can she legally do this when i dont agree with it and have not agreed at anytime with this? she's basically telling me that i have no say even though we have joint custody. what can i do? my daughter does not want to go and there is no benefit for her, its all about my ex wife and what she wants, as usual. can she legallly do this without my permission or consent?

You should retain an attorney who handles custody matters. You can get an ex-parte order to prevent your ex from changing the child's school. Good Luck, Pat McCray
