Legal Question in Family Law in California

Wish custody of my child but I'm not married

I was going to get married in Sept. of this year, but fiance is now wanting to seperate. we have a two year old child that i love very much and he is very attached to me. It is hard to bear because i am the father and custody is usually given to the mothers. Is there any way to get custody if even if we are not married yet.

You need to talk to a family law attorney who practices in your county. You will almost certainly get joint legal custody and a substantial time share. However, you should act without delay. If you delay it will appear that you do not care. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
