Legal Question in Family Law in California

Custody from another county

My husband and I have been granted primary custody of his daughter. The original case took place in San Diego County. We live in San Bernardino county, can we have our existing order moved to the county where we live so that any future action would take place here?

Re: Custody from another county

You would need to file a motion in San Diego County to move the case to San Bernardino County. If mother does not live in San Diego County the motion will almost certainly be granted. If she continues to live in San Diego County it will be up to the judge, based upon the facts, of whether the motion is granted. You may call my office to schedule a free phone consultation and I can get more information and give you a better opinion. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
