Legal Question in Family Law in California
custody issue
i allowed my 16 yr old daughter to
live fulltime with her dad. We have
50-50 legal custody. She is now 17
and her dad / stepmom are divorcing.
my daughter wanted to stay living
with her stepmom and we allowed
that under the verbal agreement
that certain communication rules
would be followed. this didn't happen
and stepmom and i got into a verbal
dispute. I was told i am not allowed
at her home. when i told my
daughter she couldn't stay where i
am not allowed...she says no.
daughter and stepmom are mad at
me. dad isn't fighting it and says
daughter can stay with stepmom. do
i have ANY legal ground with a kid
who is turning 18 in june?

Re: custody issue
You're still the mother and are entitled to the custody/visitation spelled out in the order. If stepmom is helping daughter violate the order, go to her house, wait outside with the order in hand and call the police.
