Legal Question in Family Law in California

For custody, does it matter if a parent in a criminal DV case pleads 'no contest' to the charges ( violence against the mother), or will it have the same weight as a guilty verdict in a custody modification ( now 50-50) in family law court?

The plea by itself does not control the outcome of the parenting arrangement. The family law court focus will be on what is in the child's best interest.
