Legal Question in Family Law in California

custody and mediation

I recently went to mediation and my daughter's mother did not show up. The mediator let her do her mediation on another day. In the court order the mediator stated that she did this based on family code 3181 (a). There has never been any speculation or accusation of domestic violence. Can the mediator rightful have separate mediations even though this section does not pertain to our case?
