Legal Question in Family Law in California

Custody of minor children

My ex and I were seperated for 5 years before we filed for divorce. We have 2 children ages 10 and 8. Ex moved out when we seperated and I continued living w/ in-laws. We gave gaurdingship to them because at the time we could not provide for children. I have been asked to move out, ex moved out of state and has only recently come to see children. I want to take children with me but do not know if I can with the gaurdianship and if I file for custody can ex contest them (not for ex to get custody but so I would have to leave at ex's parents)

Re: Custody of minor children

You would have to file motion to terminate the guardianship.
