Is it possible to have my custody order modified in a different county than where it originated? Can I transfer the case from San Diego to Santa Rosa?

If both parents have moved out of the county in which the original case was filed, either one of them can petition to have the case moved to the county they live in. When there are children involved the transfer, if granted, will almost always be to the county in which the child primarily resides. Unless and until a transfer is made, however, everything must be done in the original court.
