Legal Question in Family Law in California

custody

i have had a past with drug and c.p.s. i did time and since than have been working.i live with my son's parents in there home with him.. he dont work too support us and i give what i can to give his parents some money too help support our son..i left beacuse maria is verbally aggressive to everyone and i fear and know this is not healthy for my son to be around..they threaten me by saying they are gonna call the cops and cps...then i will loose my son ..what can i do?
