Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have custody, but pay my ex-childsupport payments..

I have custody of my four children and I am a single father, and I am having a hard time understanding of our family court system.I am paying my soon to be ex about $1200.00 per month, and no my children do not see the money. My children visit their mother every other weekend.I am requesting the court to modify my child support. When I had tried to get my ex to pay my children their support, she went and filed for welfare.I feel that no one in court really cares about a father's rights. And I just do not understand how the courts will work with the mother than the father.Even if their mother has a boyfriend that went back to prison, and I feel that my children is in harms way.My ex also has a newborn daughter from her boyfriend that she included in the childsupport and her child has my lastname,I had an attorney, but failed to help me get my childrens support.I cannot afford an attorney, now that I am paying my ex child support.I feel that the child support amount is outragous!!I have always been a provider for my children. But knowing the fact that my ex is not giving that money to my children just kills me.We do have house that I want to sell, but my ex is currently living there. But refusing to sell. She wants my name off the title.

Re: I have custody, but pay my ex-childsupport payments..

Basicly child support in California is based on three factors: 1. Father's gross monthly income and his income tax filing status; 2. Mother's gross monthly income and her income tax filing status; 3. Percent of time the child or children are with each parent.
