How do you a temporary custody order?

You need to file a motion with the court. If an action has not yet been filed you will need to file and action for dissolution of marriage or a paternity action. Under the right circumstances you may be able to obtain an immediate order by an "ex-parte" appearrance before a judge. Those rules will differ from county to county. Good Luck, Pat McCrary

The answer depends on a lot, such as whether the child is yours, and whether all parties involved are agreeable. Even so, all answers lead to a court order, so see an attorney about the right court and the right motion to file for your situation.
