Legal Question in Family Law in California

Day Care expense

Hi, my soon to be ex-spouse and I both work full-time and we have two children in day care. We split this expense 50/50 and have agreed to split custody 50/50 as well. I am a teacher and I have summers off. During the summer will I continue to be responsible for one-half of the day care cost on those days that I don't have custody and my children must continue to be in daycare? On days that I do have custody during the summer, I will NOT be taking my children to day care. It doesn't seem like I should continue to pay for what appear to be exclusively my ex's expense.

Re: Day Care expense

Unless the agreement or the court order regarding child care during vacations, the costs continue year around. Your best bet is to talk to the ex and either agree each of you will pay your own child care costs, which may not be possible using one day care provider, or you could suggest that during the summer you will provide the day care for the children. You could offer the provide the day care during the summer at a lower cost than he would otherwise have to pay.
