Legal Question in Family Law in California

Death Of attorney

I am in the middle of divorce proceedings. My attorney was paid in full and was handling the matters. Last year, he passed away. What happens in terms of monies paid and secondly, how can I obtain low cost legal representation?

Re: Death Of attorney

if you can provide me with greater detailed information i may be able to assist you, i.e. did you pay this attorney hourly or did you pay an upfront retainer to cover the entire divorce proceedings? in essence, i would need to know if he still had outstanding services owed to you or not and if he worked for a law firm that could handle the rest of your case in his absence now. finally, let me know what you mean exactly by "low cost" divorce and i may be able to assist you or help you find someone who can work within your budget parameters.
