Legal Question in Family Law in California

Debt owed

My boyfriend and I have broken up, and he put several things on my credit which he is keeping, and promised to pay bakc in full, now he is refusing to pay it. He and his father pressured me into signing a contract that requires me to move to ny before they will give me any of the money owed, and sitll holds me repsonsible for the debt while my boyfriend keeps the property. They agreed to pay me 5000 usd but the debt is for 6k+. I was forced into signing a contract that i did not want to sign, they ganged up on me and i was scared because he has been in jail before for domestic violence against me, I don't know what if anything i can do, please let me know if there is anything that can be done. i don't want to move to ny and i am in debt that he agreed to pay me back and is now not keeping his word

Re: Debt owed

You can try to rescind the contract, but if they have given you any money, you have to give it back. You will most likely then have to file a small claims action against your boyfriend to get the money back.
