Legal Question in Family Law in California
Last December my divorce case went to trial after 3 years of getting no where. Various subjects, including support, were decided on and ordered by the court. I was self-represented and my ex had an attorney. At the end of the trial, my ex's attorney was told by the judge to write up the judgement to be signed by us and filed with the court. My ex then fired her attorney and here we are 7 months later, not divorced. She lied and took me to court once (said I owed back support) and now is going back to court in July because of something she didn't agree with in the trial back in December. How do I finally get divorced from this woman?

I suggest that you finally stop being "self-represented", and hire an attorney to finish up your paperwork, and to represent you in your upcoming hearing.

Mr. Besser is exactly right. This is what happens when people try to represent themselves. It doesn't work for them and it ties up the courts. I am a big fan of self-representation when it works, but when things bog down, it's time to bite the bullet and get some help. It's one thing to change your own oil, or do your own tuneups, but when you don't know what to do with your car, you go to a mechanic. When you run out of what you can do for yourself in the law, the same idea applies.
