Legal Question in Family Law in California

December 10, 2010 i was given sole legal/physical custody of my children ages 4 and 5. Reasons: CPS went to my home and interviewd me and my 5 year old daughter regarding domestic violence and child abuse. My ex husband would beat me up,hit my children and was very verbally abusive. He also tried to commit suicide with knives in front of my daughter,911 was called . All this was confirmed by CPS. He was given 4 hours a week supervised visits which his mother was one of them. I have dropped of my children at his mother's home and he insults me in front of my daughter and has yelled at me and yelled at my daughter. Since his mother did nothing to stop him and has even told me he neglects my children, I sent him an email that i no longer agreed to his mother being the supervisor and to hire a professional for child visitation which the courts provided him a list for. I filed for child support and now all of a sudden he gets an ex parte hearing. It got dropped from the calendar and we are now being sent to mediation again on Febuary 18 and then on Febuary 23 we have our hearing for child custody and child support. He is still abusive, my children are still afraid of him and there is once again an open case against him from CPS for child endangerment as he has taken my kids out without car seats and for yelling at my daughter. He was ordered anger management and parenting classes as well. How can I tell the mediator that I still feel he needs supervised visitations and what chances do you think I have that the judge wont change the current court order ? His anger management is for 36 weeks by the way and it has not been 60 days and he is appealing the judge's decision.

It is nothing but a guess to say what a Family Court judge will do, especially without hearing the other side of the story, but from what you say it is not very likely that he will get anywhere with the judge.
