Legal Question in Family Law in California
My ex decided to get pregnant after we broke up via IVF. We had signed an agreement (from sperm bank) together 2 years ago prior to breaking up. We never became registered domestic partners or married. Can I be held legally responsible for her children? She just had twins 2 weeks ago.
Thanks

We don't know what the contract or agreement you signed a couple of years ago bound you to....with everything else you stated the answer would be no but with some sort of contract in place we cannot tell.
You do not mention whether or not you have attempted to get married, signed a voluntary declaration of paternity at the hospital, or held the twins out as your children. There are many different factors in the law that can make someone a legal father, even though they are not the biological father.
