Legal Question in Family Law in California

deed

I recently got divorced and in the divorce i was granted the house. i can not pay for the house so my question is... If i stop paying for the house will the person that is also on the grant deed responsible for paying for it, or does he automaticlly get the house. Or will it go in forclourse and i will loose it? theres three people on the grant deed. My ex husband, me and a friend. Will my friend be responsible for the house?

Re: deed

The people on the deed are responsible only if they are on the loan agreement. Most foreclosues in California are non judicial. This limits the lender to the amount obtained at the foreclosure sale. The other parties in the deed would have the right to bring the mortgage current. You should consider selling the house rather than just allowing it to go into foreclosure.
