What is a default entered on a dissolution of marriage

It means one spouse has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage (which everyone calls divorce) and has filed a proof of service of the summons and petition on the other spouse with the court. The time has expired and the clerk has entered the default of the spouse that has failed to respond. The court is now poised to issue a default judgment in the nonresponding spouse's absence.
