Legal Question in Family Law in California

demand for inspection and production....

I have been served an order to show caus along with a demand for insoection and production of documents pursuant to CCP 2031. This is in regards to child support arrears and a property settlement of the home at the time of divorce. The demand is asking for all notes on personal property as well as an accounting of bank accounts and 3 years tax returns. I do not believe that any of my personal property or financial information dated from 2003 to present has any bearing on a case from 1989. I don't mind presenting documents pertaining to that order, but, do not the relevance of any personal information with the exception of the information relating to the property in question and the back support.

How do I respond to the demand, ns do i need to comply to all the requests?

Re: demand for inspection and production....

Well you are wrong. The can request any information that is relavant or will lead to relavant information. Your past income and tax returns can lead to information about your assets which could be exectuted agaist for the past due support. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
