Legal Question in Family Law in California

determining child and spousal support

My ex husband took a new job. I do know he gave up stock and bonus monies (I had a percentage coming to me), and although I am unaware of the new compensation package, I do know he has a company car. He sold his other car and uses this as his sole means of transportation. How is the figured into the support guideline formula?

The value of the company car, insurance and miantenance are added into his gross monthly income for purposes of calculating guideline child support.

I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

Most likely you will have to re-file for a modification of support based upon the fact he has a new job. But, if your case is pending, you should send him interrogatories setting forth these amounts before you file. He has to tell you what his job is, pay, benefits, etc. Please consult with a local attorney. Good luck and thanks for inquiring.
