Prenuptial is before a couple gets married.
Postnuptial is after the couple is already married.

What Mr. Saltzman said is about it. Prenups, also called premarital agreements, are entered into before marriage. Postnuptial agreements are entered into after the parties are married. The laws regulating the two are also different.

In either case you should consult with an attorney before entering into such an agreement.
