Legal Question in Family Law in California
dimentia senior being divorced by wealthy spouse
We have contacted Elder Law and Aging Independent services and we can't find help. A senior man married 8 years ago to a millionaire who always promised to care for him. He has some dimentia now and she placed him in a residential care home in febuary. She served papers stating they seperated 3 years ago (false) and for divorce. He has no monies or properties and is not even aware of this. The papers were served to the caregiver while he slept. Who can protect him from this rich woman who is going to divorce him to make him the states responsibility??

If he's in California he needs a conservatorship. The conservator will hire an attorney to represent the elderly man.

He needs a Guardian to represent him in the divorce case. If his wife is rich and he has been married to he 8 yeara the Judge will grant him some attorney fees to contest her Complaint for divorce.
